Here’s the compatibility gotcha worth knowing: the 813LM looks almost identical to the 811LM from ten feet away, but they use different internal crystals and the 813LM runs on 9-volt DC while the 811LM is 3-volt. • The face of the keypad is yellowed, cracked, or water spots are visible behind the lens. The sun does real work on plastic out here. Once the third seal lets go, water follows the button contacts and the board dies a few months later.
